    • In the fall of 1931 Lakeland began housing women on campus--the first six were freshmen, and stayed in the Mission House dormitory. They included Leona Neuhas, Elsa Schmidt, Marie Freitag, Lotta Hegnauer, Irene Bauer, and Irene Krostag.
